20. Conquering Camps
You can survive on Planet Visitor in only one camp, but to be successful, you will need to expand. To do that, you will need to conquer other regions.
A camp is ready to be conquered only when all Turrets and corporate specific production facilities have been destroyed or dismantled from the region. Corporate specific production facilities include Weapon Plants, Armor Plants, Rover Yards, Gear Factories, Research Facilities,Warehouses and Nerve Centers. Other buildings like Wells, Walls and Teleport Matrices may remain. Once these buildings have been removed from the region, it is considered DESTROYED and its ownership will revert to Visitor (indicated by the planet icon in World View). The region is then opened to be conquered. You can only conquer Visitor camps. You may want to first try to conquer an old abandoned Visitor Camp before trying to take on an established camp.
When a camp is 'destroyed', its Camp signature will indicate who was in the camp when it was destroyed - implicating any Avatar who may been present during the event.
To conquer a camp, you must place your Nerve Center in the region. As soon as you do this, the camps belongs to you. Conquering a camp is not an arbitrary action. Before you attempt to do so, you should have allies ready to protect you and your new camp. It is also a good idea to bring a Teleport Matrix, some Wells, Rovers, Transium, some weapons for your Rovers, and have some V$ saved in addition to a Nerve Center. When you log out, only your Home Region will be locked. Your other camps will remain open and are vulnerable to attack. However, open camps continue to mine Transium. If you wish, you can edit your Camp Profile for your new camp and make it your new Home Region, so it will lock when you log out, and your older, more established camp will stay open.
If your Home Region camp is conquered (you have to be online for this to happen), and you have additional camps, you MUST assign one of your other camps as your new Home Region. Until you do this, all your camps will remain unlocked and active while you are logged off. Please refer to the EDIT CAMP PROFILE section under Chat for more info on how to do this.
